Close-up lightning hitting antenna

This video is available in high definitionDate filmed: July 4, 2006
Location: St. Albans, West Virginia
Speed: Realtime
Class: Premium

Description: Three camera views (wide, telephoto and extreme telephoto) yield extremely detailed, close-up shots of three spectacular lightning bolts directly striking the antenna of a television tower near St. Albans, West Virginia on a stormy July 4 evening. After each strike, sparks of molten metal fall from the tower tip like a fireworks burst as loud thunder crashes. Excellent proof that lightning does strike the same place twice! Other lightning bolts flash behind the tower tip.
