My parents made the trip from Pennsylvania to visit in St. Louis this past weekend. The must-see this time of year is of course the bald eagles up in the Alton/Grafton area. While we didn't see the large numbers that I've experienced before, we still had a few good sightings. This one was at Grafton near Brussels Ferry:

Hawk at Pere Marquette State Park:

Tess (cocker spaniel, 10 years) tagged along and was good company as usual. Here she's doing her signature head tilt at the Arch (click for full screen):

Nice !!! What lens where you using Dan on the Eagle ?

Thanks Mick! I used my 70-300 Canon for that. It's a cheap lens but does OK.

The eagles around Alton was a favorite of mine, as well as the fall colors at Pere Marquette...another great spot for fall pics was Garden of the Gods, down in S. IL......
