: The May 27, 2001 derecho in southwestern Kansas blasts overhead in this view looking southeast near Sitka, KS. Our unit just missed the 100+ winds that did damage to the rest of our team's vehicles farther west. In this view, dust is kicked up on the leading edge of the high winds.
