Severe thunderstorms bring hail, wind, flooding: Tuesday evening weather turns tough for rush hour travelers: August 10, 2004

CHARLESTON, WV - Severe thunderstorms charged across the state on Tuesday evening, with large hail, strong winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning. Hail up to the size of quarters was reported in many locations. Street flooding was also a problem as heavy rains inundated the area. Kanawha County was hit by several repeat thunderstorms through the course of the afternoon and late evening.
