In September of 2025, my work is generating the most income it ever has in my career. Yet, I'm being forced to shut down my successul operation, against my will, due to one cause alone: 95% of that revenue is being stolen by piracy and copyright infringement. I've lost more than $1 million to copyright infringement in the last 15 years, and it's finally brought an end to my professional storm chasing operation. I have to have something to do in my spare time now that the ridging is setting in for the summer across the Plains. Re-inspired by the Vandalia festival this weekend, I headed down to the Fret-n-Fiddle music shop in St. Albans and picked this up on Saturday afternoon.
I was looking for something quick and inexpensive just to get back into learning to play again, and this is a decent instrument for the price I paid for it. It is in great shape and has a good sound.
I bought my first 5-string banjo back in 1997 and taught myself how to play some basic rolls using a video tutorial. I eventually traded it in for a 6-string acoustic guitar in 2002, which I still have. While miraculously I still remember the 3-finger banjo rolls I learned back in '97, don't ask me to play this thing for you yet. Trust me, you'll be sorry you did. Just give me another year or two first.
