Photography of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis
The Gateway Arch in St. Louis has been a welcome sight to me over the years. As I've traveled west into the prairies of the Midwest and Plains on my annual storm chasing vacations, the Arch has always been a sign that I was headed to a place to do something I loved. The comfort and appeal of the St. Louis region grew on me through the years, eventually enough to pack up all of my belongings and relocate here from 500 miles away. I now spend a few days a week making photography expeditions in the city. The Arch is the internationally-recognized monument of America's expansion, just as much as it has been a personal symbol of my own move westward. I count it a blessing to have the photographic opportunities of this significant American symbol and its city in my 'backyard'.
