A brilliant ranbow appears on the back of a severe thunderstorm near Gothenburg, Nebraska on June 10, 2004. Thunderstorms are the most prolific rainbow producers, as the back edge of their heavy rain cores are illuminated by the sun peeking through the clearing behind the storm.
