| The remains of the old 1,500-foot WVAH television tower lie in a pile of ice and debris near St. Albans, West Virginia after heavy icing brought down the structure on February 19, 2003. Ice storms are caused by freezing rain, a phenomenon caused when warm air is situated above a thin layer of below-freezing air at ground level.
