Beating the heat: Whitewater rafting the cool-off activity of choice: August 28, 2004

FAYETTEVILLE, WV - Coping with hot and humid conditions in the state this weekend was no easier than on a raft or kayak in the New River Gorge. Temperatures reached 90 degrees in some locations before afternoon storms brought a brief cooldown.
