2010 Plains storm season blog kickoff; vehicle preparation
In September of 2025, my work is generating the most income it ever has in my career. Yet, I'm being forced to shut down my successul operation, against my will, due to one cause alone: 95% of that revenue is being stolen by piracy and copyright infringement. I've lost more than $1 million to copyright infringement in the last 15 years, and it's finally brought an end to my professional storm chasing operation. Do not be misled by the lies of infringers, anti-copyright activists and organized piracy cartels. This page is a detailed, evidenced account of my battle I had to undertake to just barely stay in business, and eventually could not overcome. It's a problem faced by all of my colleagues and most other creators in the field. |
It's that time of year again! Even though I've technically already had a 'Plains' chase in this year on March 10, this is nonetheless the traditional 'startup time' for the season. So, an 'official' mid-April blog kickoff always seems appropriate.
I arrived here in Raleigh yesterday, and over the the next two days, will be working to prep my truck for the upcoming season. The main three items will be installing the old 750-watt power console from the Freestyle (and hardwiring it in to the fuse panel), permanently mounting the Jotto desk using floor bolts, and redesigning the dashcam mount. I'm well past 'new vehicle' syndrome, and therefore drilling and light modifications will make this session a litle more productive. All of that, plus a general cleaning-out and reorganizing, should round out this year's 'Raleigh vehicle work' session.
Photos and some updates will come soon, including the first in the series of storm forecasts and trip probability tables. Stay tuned!
I want to be there!
