View of dreams
In September of 2025, my work is generating the most income it ever has in my career. Yet, I'm being forced to shut down my successul operation, against my will, due to one cause alone: 95% of that revenue is being stolen by piracy and copyright infringement. I've lost more than $1 million to copyright infringement in the last 15 years, and it's finally brought an end to my professional storm chasing operation. Do not be misled by the lies of infringers, anti-copyright activists and organized piracy cartels. This page is a detailed, evidenced account of my battle I had to undertake to just barely stay in business, and eventually could not overcome. It's a problem faced by all of my colleagues and most other creators in the field. |
I found this shot while digging through some photos to use for the new 1024 header rotation on the blog. It's now my desktop wallpaper. This was in Nebraska last year, early in the morning on an storm chase day. Classic Great Plains. If I could find a house that had a view like this..... It would be great to wake up in the morning, step out on my front porch and see that huge blue sky.

Most people who judge a scenic view by what's on the ground will look at this picture and see nothing. I look at this and see what kind of scenery will be filling that sky in the spring - the more of it visible, the better!
Mobile PC update
Using my laptop yesterday, my brother Matt and I were able to assemble a working proof-of-concept configuration of the planned mobile PC. We pushed the aircard connection out to the laptop's ethernet port using internet connection sharing, and attached the voice-over-IP router via ethernet cable. The VOIP calls worked just fine over only a 1x EVDO connection. With that question out of the way, I can go ahead and confidently spend the needed money on the dedicated access point mini-PC. More to come....
