Hitting the reset button
I wasn't kidding what I said minimalist, in case you didn't believe me at first.
As you can see, I don't have all of the old systems and code in place here yet (comment system, XML feed, etc). Kind of like moving into a new apartment and still having everything packed in boxes. I'll probably 'unpack' the XML feed later tonight, since there were a few subscribers on the old site that may still be checking it. Whether or not they'll stick around for this new place remains to be seen, but it's worth a try.
So what am I going to do with this new blog/site. Everything on the old domain is gone, I wiped the server clean yesterday. So this is all new, built-from-scratch (although obviously not much to look at). I think this blog is not going to be too much different from the old one, but with markedly less storm chasing content (unless a revenue stream or two can come back to support it). Photography subjects will be more common, but with only one or two per post. Video is probably not going to show up too much anymore on here, since it takes too many resources (disk space and bandwidth) and wasn't that popular anyway. As a general rule, if it's going to take any work or any feeling of obligation to post, it's not going to happen. This is mainly a friends and family blog now, so you'll see a few clips now and then that will probably not interest anyone on the outside.
That's all for now. Thanks for sticking around through the transition!
