CHARLESTON, WV - The first thunderstorm event of the year for West Virginia affected most of the state on Wednesday. Several clusters and lines of storms moved northeast across the region starting in the mid-afternoon and lasting through the evening. Wednesday's storms were stronger than average for a March thunderstorm event, with large hail being reported in many locations.
Winter will make a brief return from Thursday through the weekend, before another warmup takes hold by the middle of next week.
