Plains season restart?
In September of 2025, my work is generating the most income it ever has in my career. Yet, I'm being forced to shut down my successul operation, against my will, due to one cause alone: 95% of that revenue is being stolen by piracy and copyright infringement. I've lost more than $1 million to copyright infringement in the last 15 years, and it's finally brought an end to my professional storm chasing operation. Do not be misled by the lies of infringers, anti-copyright activists and organized piracy cartels. This page is a detailed, evidenced account of my battle I had to undertake to just barely stay in business, and eventually could not overcome. It's a problem faced by all of my colleagues and most other creators in the field. |
I've been waiting a few days to make this post, wanting to first see a good series of model runs before saying anything. If the 2009 season is in a nose-dive, it looks like the engines are trying to turn over. Long-range models suggest a healthy western troughing trend will being to erode the ridge in the next few days, and take hold as the dominant pattern by the weekend. This should re-start the engines on the plunging 2009 storm season and allow it to at least attempt to pull out of the dive. I will be watching this closely in the coming days and make a final determination on whether trip #2 will be a go.
Based on the current outlook, this probability table charts the chance of the second Plains storm chase expedition starting on a particular date:
2009 Storm Chasing Expedition #2 - Departure Date Probability as of June 1 |
June 1-7 | 45% | |
June 8-15 | 45% | |
No trip #2 | 10% | |
