In September of 2025, my work is generating the most income it ever has in my career. Yet, I'm being forced to shut down my successul operation, against my will, due to one cause alone: 95% of that revenue is being stolen by piracy and copyright infringement. I've lost more than $1 million to copyright infringement in the last 15 years, and it's finally brought an end to my professional storm chasing operation. Do not be misled by the lies of infringers, anti-copyright activists and organized piracy cartels. This page is a detailed, evidenced account of my battle I had to undertake to just barely stay in business, and eventually could not overcome. It's a problem faced by all of my colleagues and most other creators in the field.
The following is my best effort to show a comparison between different dashcam models by replicating the various scenes as closely as possible. The Garmin Dash Cam 20 and Windshield Witness were mounted next to each other for their videos, and therefore their comparison frame pairs were all shot at the exact time and place. I will add to this page as I am able to review more dashcam models. For the full reviews, visit the dashcam reviews page.
No color correction nor any type of adjustments have been applied to any of these images, they are all straight from the cameras. The GoPro is not a true dashcam, but it is included in these comparison sets since it is sometimes employed for that purpose. Click on each image to view a large version. (Video from all of these scenes and more are viewable at the links above.)

Disclaimer/about this page
This page started as a blog post in 2013, and due to its popularity, grew into its current form. This page and its contents are a personal, independent project not paid for or sponsored by any third party. I will accept demonstration models from dashcam manufacturers in order to write an impartial review. In those cases, the review will state clearly that the unit was sent to me for that purpose. A dashcam being sent to me free of charge will not influence the outcome of the review - that is, I will plainly describe any flaws or glitches I find during normal operation.
