Psalm 147:17 - Large hail is common with tornadic supercells in the Great Plains and Midwest, and many of my tornado days have also had damaging hail encounters. All of my chase vehicles have ended up with countless hail dents, with some getting their first dents only months after their purchase brand new! For years, I traveled with a cooler stocked with dry ice to collect any significant hailstones I encountered on springtime Great Plains chase trips. Softball sized hail is a rare event I've only seen a handful of times in my career, and a storm in 2022 finally yielded a large collection of giant hailstones to take home and capture detailed photographs in a studio setting.
